Ponoko

This is a really neat concept for the DIY designer. Ponoko is a company out of New Zealand. They let you upload eps files pick a material like plastic or wood and cut the material out with a laser and ship the pieces to you. So you can really design some neat stuff as long the pieces can be cut from a flat sheet of material. The only real drawback at this point is shipping from New Zeland is way expensive. They do mention that they would like to set up a shop in the United States or Partner up with some one that already has the equipment. The prices to cut the material and material its self was pretty affordable. They also let people market their designs, so you can sell and show your ideas. Here is theLink.
